It’s a Throwback Thursday to a couple years ago with one of my very first engagement session. The lovely couple is Josh and Ali. They were so much fun to work with. I was a bit nervous at first as I was pretty new to the game. They were really looking to capture the beautiful fall colours, which was a great backdrop for me to work with. We started off in a nearby park and got some great images, quickly I became more at ease which probably also loosed them up a bit as they were most likely a little nervous, as most people not used to being in front of the camera are.
From there we headed to a nearby vineyard, luckily the grapes were still on the vines and got some great shots. We then came across a nearby railroad and thought it would be pretty cool location. I think some of the best shots came from there. The great thing of shooting in Hamilton is there are always a huge variety of interesting and unique landscapes to utilize as a background.
One of the reasons I enjoy doing engagement sessions is that the couple is so excited with the new journey they have embarked upon. It’s really one of the first things to do after she says yes. I love seeing couples in this magical time.
Recently, I was able to celebrate with them as their wedding day finally arrived. The weather wasn’t the greatest as it was a very overcast and windy day, however the Lakeview on the shores of Lake Ontario did not disappoint as a venue. Even as a guest, I couldn’t help myself from capturing a few shots (it helps knowing the photographer). It really took me back to that engagement session just a few years ago and capturing all the love they have for each other on their big day!
A big thanks to JD from Unveil Weddings for all the help and advice. Check them out here.
A huge congratulations to the lovely couple, I’m sure life is finally getting back to normal. Josh and Ali’s engagement session is now available in the gallery section.
