Last week was a throwback to one of my first engagement sessions and here is my latest. I really enjoy doing engagement sessions as I was in the same situation not too long ago, and I know what excitement these young couples are experiencing! This was certainly the case with Chris and his new fiancée Melissa. All the excitement they’re experiencing was definitely captured in these photos. You couldn’t get Melissa’s smile off her face, it helps that she chose to marry Chis, he’s constantly making her laugh. Melissa was definitely a natural in front of the camera and after a few shots Chris warmed up and I think the end result is great! With those striking John Travolta like good looks, perhaps Chris should quit his day job.
When I was approached to do an this engagement session on ice I was a little worried with the unseasonably warm winter we’ve been having. I knew a frozen pond would be a great setting, we just had to find one. After scouring the Hamilton area for a secluded pond I accidentally stumbled across our location, tucked away and out of sight. I was a little hesitant about this spot at first but after seeing the final images, I’m thrilled! It truly brought us back to that Canadian ritual of hiking to the nearby pond and lacing up the skates. Whether it be playing a game of shiny as a kid or that romantic skate with someone special.
I hope Chris and Melissa enjoy the year to come and all of the excitement that it will bring. I look forward to the big day in August. It’s gonna come very quick!!
